Globe Content Studio
The Globe and Mail is Canada’s national leading newspaper. I came on as a Creative Director to help the Globe’s branded content studio re-brand its visual communication and messaging, to rework the pitching process and all presentation materials, and to amplify its creative offering.
In reworking the studio’s look and messaging, I wanted to honour The Globe and Mail’s journalistic integrity, as well as its cultural and historical importance, while underlining the studio’s modern approach to branded content.
To root the studio in the heritage of The Globe and Mail, I leaned on archival photography from the newspaper. The collage treatment is a visual vehicle that shows the many layers that go in to crafting a story. The photographs that were selected features game-changing news that actively participated in shaping our society–tying this progressive attitude to the studio’s brand. The collage approach proved to be incredibly versatile for the studio, transferring well from printed materials to motion videos.
